Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma is neoplasm arising....

Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma is neoplasm arising from the serosal lining of the peritoneal and pericardial cavities. In many cases, malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is not diagnosed until after surgery or autopsy. The distinction of the malignant peritoneal mesothelioma from tumors metastatic to the serosal membranes can often be made based on the results of histochemical studies.

The second most common form of mesothelioma cancer is peritoneal mesothelioma. Peritoneal mesothelioma can spread to the lungs and when this occurs, it is considered secondary lung cancer. Mesothelioma is also sometimes referred to as an asbestos lung cancer.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is a type of cancer affecting the abdomen lining. Asbestos fibers affect the intestinal tract and finally the abdominal. Like all forms of asbestos-caused cancer, peritoneal mesothelioma can mysteriously lay dormant in the system for up to five decades.
